Up to now, I’ve mostly done basic creation or editing. But the really hardcore stuff comes in when you take photographs and manipulate, splice, or combine them. So I decided to “transplant” my friend Tom’s head onto my other friend Nate’s body. (The title is simply Tom’s first name with Nate’s last name.)

Not surprisingly, this was quite difficult. To start, Tom’s head doesn’t fit on Nate’s body very well. And the angles were slightly different, which complicates things a bit more. Then there’s the fact that if I had made Tom’s head any smaller, parts of Nate’s head would have shown, and I would have had to try to erase them. Given the texture of the ceiling and uneven lighting, that wouldn’t be easy. Finally, the lighting on the two source images was different, so I applied a new light in Photoshop to try to minimize this. It’s certainly not perfect…but it is funny to make fun of.
