In 2003, in my BIS288 (Business Computer Graphics) class, we were assigned to create some signs. I don’t recall many restrictions on what we could make them on, so I made a sign for a Nuclear Power Plant, a Target Range, and a Red Light District. I developed a general sign shape as a template, and then could modify it individually for a sign from there. At this point, I seemed to have discovered the blending options and began experimenting to give the images a more 3D feel. This one utilizes a drop shadow and bevel & emboss.
Later on, I re-created a sign I’d made prior, to fit the theme. This sign is, as Politically Incorrect as it is, a “Cripple Crossing” sign. Its purpose was to poke fun at a friend my freshman year who was not disabled in any way, but enjoyed racing around the dorm hallways in a wheelchair. That was good enough for me.
